| Poached eggs, the national brekkie food |
So here is Monday morning, the 12th of November. I thought I would do a quick update, as I will not be around wifi a lot the rest of the week.
So, again, it has been a full and exiting few days.
Since the last post last Wednesday, I decided I was done feeling crappy and went out for a run Thursday morning.

| The Pepper Silo hotel, where I stayed the first few days in Tasmania |
Then I got in the car en drove for over 5 hours, taking the scenic route from Launceston to Hobart on Tasmania. The trip was amazing, with wide open spaces, many sheep and some steep, hairpin curves with deep drops on your left, where you had to hold on to the steering wheel with two hands and go WIIIIIIII all the way down, it was magnificent! I had promised myself, I would take up any interesting offers I see on signs on the side of the road. That ended up in me at this tiny airport and taking a fabulous trip over the south eastern peninsula of the island. So worth it! I am struggling with the video though, that will follow. So many good songs came by, including the one as titel for this blog. I have always loved this song and it was perfect in this environment.

We did the 12k trail run in very hilly conditions and were extremely proud when we finished well under 2 hours.
We made ourselves pretty after that and went to Palm Beach for brunch.
I had my first dip in the Tasman sea, thanks to a lot (LOT) of coaching from Roos.
I am having a brilliant time here :o)
Things I have learned about Australia(ns):
The golden arches are called Mackers here
There is no BK, it is called Hungry Jacks
Kfc is still kfc
You are not allowed to hold a koala outside the states of Queensland, South and West Aus (guess where I will be heading next)
I had not realized how sensitive the relationship with the Aboriginals is. I watched this movie Three summers and also at the trail run it became evidently clear how sore this subject is here. The Aboriginals consider themselves as being occupied.
Even in what we would consider high end establishments, it is: order at the bar.
Things I would like to teach Australians:
Saying the correct thing still does not make you polite (yes, I am talking about you Ibis Hobart). I have seldomly felt so unwelcome at a hotel ever.
Things I have learned about myself:
Muscle memory is a beautiful thing.
